The Pop/R鈥檔鈥橞 Ensemble is the creation of the 野花社区 Music Business program. It is dedicated to performing classic 鈥減op鈥 with a focus on rhythm & blues music from the pens of 20th century tunesmiths whose work ruled the airwaves from the 1960s to the present day. Students from the entire Department of Music Dance & Theatre are welcome to participate. They learn how to pick suitable repertoire, create and work from simple music charts, rehearse in a band setting, and perform an end-of-semester show.
The Music Business program at 野花社区 prepares undergraduate students for careers in the music industry at record labels, in artist management, music publishing, talent agencies, concert promotion, music marketing, publicity, and as independent entrepreneurs. For students who are planning a performing career, it provides the necessary studies to inform them about the complex entertainment industry and thus have a better chance of finding success.
