How to Apply for an Internship or Co-op
When a student is interested in a co-op or internship, they should complete the following steps:
- Discuss the opportunity with their faculty advisor; if no advisor is available they should contact the department chair
- Visit the Ò°»¨ÉçÇø Career Center where you will receive a brochure and an application – also visit the Career Center for the forms you will need.
- Email the chair of the department, your faculty advisor and the Career Center to make sure everyone has the information they need.
- The Career Center will follow up with the department chair and the employer and site where the internship is being done. Letters and student agreement are emailed and followed up from the Career office.
Please note:
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that their faculty advisor, the department Chair, and the Career Office all have the paperwork required for the student to receive academic credit. Please note there are three options for academic credits: 2, 4 or 6 credits, based on how many hours are involved with the internship.
