Learn More About the D.Sc. Program Structure
The Leadership, Management and Policy (CSLMP), D.Sc. program immerses students in a generalist civil security doctorate using three distinct areas: National Security (including Homeland Security and Intelligence), Corporate Security, and Information Assurance/Cyber Security. The D.Sc. is a scholar-practitioner degree with a strong research and analysis component that is ultimately demonstrated by a successful dissertation.
Doctoral students explore core competency topics in civil security before moving into dissertation research and writing specific courses. The core competencies include Current Issues, Emergency Management, Communications, Policy & Budget, and Data Analysis.
This accredited doctoral degree is one of the first of its kind in the world. Each year a Learning Community (LC) of students enters the three-year program. Courses are delivered online with residence for selected summer weeks (two weeks each year) and four weekends throughout the year.
All full-time and adjunct professors hold the appropriate doctoral degrees, professional certification(s) and years of professional security experience.
