Non-Credit, Elective Certificate Programs For All Ò°»¨ÉçÇø STEAM Academy Students

 
Here are recommendations of online 5 or 6-week fundamental courses for high-performing high school students (grades 9-12) seeking advanced learning opportunities, designed to challenge and enrich their academic experience beyond the Ò°»¨ÉçÇø STEAM Academy. These courses lead to a certification of completion from Ò°»¨ÉçÇø and are an additional cost. Students from the Ò°»¨ÉçÇø STEAM Academy will complete these courses as part of the optional Enrichment Hour.

Introduction to Microsoft Word 2019 ($147) 
Learn to create professional-looking letters, reports, and documents using Microsoft Word 2019. This hands-on course will help you master the basic features of this powerful word-processing program to type, edit, and format text, and spell check and print documents like a pro. 
 
Introduction to Python 2.5 Programming ($129) 
Learn the Fundamentals of Computer Programming in Python with topics that include basic decisions and loops, advanced data structures, object-oriented programming and graphical user interfaces. 

Introduction to JavaScript ($129) 
Build on your knowledge of HTML and CCS by adding interactivity to your web pages with JavaScript. This course provides hands-on practice as you start with the basics and move on to more advanced topics to master not just JavaScript but jQuery as well. 
 
UI/UX Design ($129) 
User interface (UI) and user experience (UX) design have emerged as the framing approach to all digital design. including websites, apps, and other devices, and one of the most valuable skills in today's digital design environment.
