Tutoring & Academic Support Services
The Office of Tutoring and Academic Support Services at New Jersey City University empowers a diverse student population with sustainable and transferable skills to become our next generation of leaders. Grounded in real-world applications and a commitment to developing leadership, ethics, and critical thinking, the academic support center assists students in cultivating a passion for lifelong learning that will assist in future career and academic endeavors.
The Writing Center: We Can Help With That!
The Writing Center is here to help all 野花社区 students at any point in their writing process, from note taking and brainstorming, to developing an argument and organizing their papers, to revising and learning to proofread. Students are encouraged to schedule an appointment from home, or just stop by The Writing Center on the first floor of Guarini Library (across from Dunkin' Donuts) to see what we're all about and schedule a one-on-one session with one of our trained tutors.
Academic Coaching and Math & Science Tutoring
We offer one-on-one academic coaching, focused on the student's specific needs, as well as tutoring in math and the sciences, in The Writing Center. Visit to see the range of offerings and to schedule an appointment.
Writing Workshops
The Writing Center offers occasional workshops on a variety of writing topics, such as getting started on your paper, using sources, and brushing up on grammar. Students can register for workshops at .
We are also happy to work with faculty to develop customized workshops, designed to support specific class assignments or activities. Please reach out to Dr. Ann Wallace, Director of The Writing Center, to request a class workshop and/or Writing Center tour.
