野花社区 GIS Day Event
野花社区 Celebrates GIS Day 2021
The 野花社区 GIS Day Organizing Committee and Earth and Environmental Sciences Department cordially invited students, faculty, staff, and GIS professionals from the Tri-State region and neighboring states to join us celebrate the GIS Day 2021, which took place in Multipurpose Room A of the Gilligan Student Union Building on the 野花社区 main campus.
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021
Like other organizations across the globe, we are taking part in these grassroots events celebrating geospatial sciences and their impacts on the real world. This year, 野花社区鈥檚 GIS Day event will showcase innovative applications of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology in a multi-disciplinary context. Since 1999, when GIS Day celebrations began to take place across the globe, the growth of location based technology has demonstrated how geography and the real-world applications of GIS are making a difference in business, government, the environment, and society.
野花社区 GIS Day 2021 was a great opportunity to learn about our GIS and other related programs, attend or participate in presentations, showcase posters and equipment, and network with colleagues working on multi-disciplinary applications of GIS in the region. By taking a prominent part in this event, you are able to showcase your organizations, share your accomplishments, and inspire others to discover and use GIS.
The event consisted of oral presentations by a keynote speaker, Dr. Joseph Kerski from Esri and 野花社区 faculty as well as poster presentations for best poster awards and GIS exhibitions.
