JERSEY CITY, N.J. |  (Ò°»¨ÉçÇø) and the Hudson County Latin American Chamber of Commerce (HCLACC) are proud to announce a strategic partnership aimed at fostering international connections, boosting the local economy, and enhancing educational opportunities for students.

This innovative collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), sets the stage for a series of initiatives designed to bridge the gap between academia and the international business community. Of significance, this partnership will work to promote education and international trade aligned not only with state goals but also federal objectives.

Key highlights of the partnership include:

  1. International Business Expo: An annual event showcasing global business opportunities, featuring keynote speakers, networking sessions, and student project exhibitions.
  2. Specialized Educational Programs: Joint development of courses focusing on international trade, Latino entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural business communication.
  3. Student Internships: Opportunities for Ò°»¨ÉçÇø students to gain hands-on experience with local and international businesses.
  4. Mentorship Programs: Connecting students with successful Latino entrepreneurs and international business leaders.

Ò°»¨ÉçÇø Interim President Andrés Acebo stated "This partnership represents a strategic step forward in our efforts to foster community connections, support our local economy, and create meaningful opportunities for our students. We are building bridges that leverage the strength of our community's diversity and connecting them to global perspectives and real-world experiences while enhancing the economic and cultural vitality of our community. This collaboration is a powerful example of how mission-driven and community anchored institutions of higher learning and local businesses can work hand-in-hand to empower people and make a lasting impact."

Heidi Castrillon, President of HCLACC, added: "Our collaboration with Ò°»¨ÉçÇø will not only elevate local Latino businesses but also position Hudson County as a hub for international trade and cultural exchange. This partnership will open doors to global opportunities for students, entrepreneurs, and our entire community, driving innovation and economic development in ways that align with both state and federal objectives."

This partnership is set to launch with a series of workshops and networking events in the coming months, culminating in the augural Latino International Business Expo in September 2025.
