Commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Dear Ò°»¨ÉçÇø Family,

Today we pause to commemorate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — a visionary leader who believed that our penchant for kindness and community is stronger than our propensity for hate. At Ò°»¨ÉçÇø, we will always celebrate Dr. King's life and legacy because we understand that when we stand united against prejudice, racism, and all forms of bigotry, we continue to honor our own collective humanity.

Dr. King was a strong proponent of education as a way of shining a light in the face of darkness. Every day on our campus, our mission-driven work illuminates the minds of our students so that they can go back to their home communities ready to be the change they want to see in the world.

Today, I encourage you to reflect in your own lives on the positive impact our everyday actions can make in sustaining the legacy of an American icon whose courage, commitment to social justice, and faithful pursuit of racial equality continues to inspire countless people on our campus and around the world.

With gratitude,

Andrés Acebo
Interim President
