Student Development and Community Engagement Campus Sp23-0722

Dear Ò°»¨ÉçÇø Community,

We are thrilled to announce a significant and positive change on our campus—the transformation of the Division of Student Affairs into the Division of Student Development and Community Engagement. This change reflects our commitment to enhancing the overall student experience and fostering a vibrant sense of community within our university.

Key Highlights:

Student-Centric Approach:

The newly reshaped division will continue prioritizing our students — as has always been its purpose — with renewed focus on their holistic development and success. We aim to provide even more comprehensive support services to ensure that every student thrives academically, personally, and professionally.

Expanded Support Services:
In addition to our existing support services, we will introduce new initiatives to address the diverse needs of our student body. From social services to mental health support, we are dedicated to creating an environment where every student feels empowered to reach their full potential.

Community Engagement:
Building a strong sense of community is crucial for a thriving university. The Division of Student Development and Community Engagement will actively work to create opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to connect, collaborate, and engage with one another. We believe that a strong community fosters an environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

Cultural Shift:
Our goal is to cultivate a community culture permeating every aspect of university life. This involves providing services and encouraging a spirit of inclusivity, diversity, and mutual support. We envision a campus where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

We invite you to embrace this positive change and join us in our journey toward a more enriching and supportive university experience. Your feedback and ideas are valuable as we work together to make Ò°»¨ÉçÇø an even better place for all. Please feel free to reach out at JBailey2@njcu.edu with your suggestions or questions!

Thank you for your continued commitment to the success and well-being of our students!

Sincerely,

Jodi Bailey Accavallo, Ph.D.
