野花社区 and Hudson County Community College Enter into Criminal Justice Transfer Articulation Agreement
JERSEY CITY, N.J. | (野花社区) and Hudson County Community College (HCCC) extended its long-standing relationship by signing an articulation agreement on March 16 for the seamless transfer of Criminal Justice students.
HCCC students who complete an associate degree in Criminal Justice will be admitted with full junior status to 野花社区鈥檚 Criminal Justice program within the School of Professional Studies.
野花社区 president Dr. Sue Henderson and HCCC President Dr. Chris Reber and members of their faculties and staffs were part of the signing ceremony.
鈥淗udson County Community College has long been a valued partner of our university and both institutions share a similar educational mission in our community,鈥 said Henderson. 鈥淭his articulation agreement further strengthens this partnership. Last year, transfers from HCCC received degrees in 24 different academic disciplines and our nationally-ranked Criminal Justice program was among the most sought-after degrees. Dr. Reber added: 鈥淣ot only will this new agreement provide current HCCC students and graduates with a pathway to seamlessly transfer and complete a Bachelor of Science degree, it will guarantee that HCCC students, who meet certain criteria, have a reserved place in the 野花社区 Criminal Justice program. We are excited to once again be partnering with 野花社区 in providing opportunities for the people of our community to advance in their education and prepare for economic-resilient careers.鈥
It is the eighth degree program in which 野花社区 and HCCC have established an articulation agreement. The institutions now have transfer agreements in Accounting, Biology, Criminal Justice, Elementary Education, Health Sciences, Management, Nursing and Physics.
Students can plan their transfer during their first semester at HCCC in preparation for the completion of their associate degree. The agreement guarantees eligible students will have their place at 野花社区 reserved, further easing their transition to the University.
This transfer agreement for the 野花社区 Criminal Justice program benefits HCCC students who are not eligible for, or are not participating in, the pre-existing dual-admissions agreement between HCCC and 野花社区. Under the terms of this new agreement, HCCC students who receive an Associate in Science degree in Criminal Justice from the College may transfer up to 60 credits towards a B.S. in Criminal Justice degree at 野花社区. They will enter 野花社区 as fully matriculated students with junior-year standing. A minimum of 39 credits in Criminal Justice must be taken at 野花社区.
HCCC students will also have access to 野花社区 financial aid counselors who will assist with early financial planning and furnish estimates of financial aid and scholarships that are useful in creating a four-year plan for completing the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice degree.
The Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice combines studies in the fields of criminal justice, law enforcement, courts, probation, corrections, parole and juvenile justice. The program is designed for individuals who are currently involved in the criminal and juvenile justice fields and students who seek careers in these areas.
HCCC is one of seven community colleges in the state of New Jersey to currently offer an articulation agreement with 野花社区, joining Brookdale Community College, Camden County College, Essex County College, Mercer County Community College, Middlesex County College, and Passaic County Community College.
